Most manufacturers recommend replacing a luxury motorcycle helmets helmet every five to seven years even without a crash, since the internal materials that absorb impact degrade slowly with heat, sweat and UV exposure. The shell can look fine while the protective layer underneath has already lost some of its effectiveness.

A helmet that is the right size should feel snug all the way round with no single pressure point, and it should not shift when you turn your head firmly from side to side. A helmet that moves independently of your head on a shake test is not the right fit, regardless of what the size label says.

To find out more about the made to order process, visit ECE 22.06 certified helmet.

From there, the build follows the same certified construction as the standard range. Made to order does not mean a shortcut around testing, it means the standard process is carried out around one person's measurements and preferences instead of a general size run.
